    Ludwig von Mises did argue in “Theory and History” that novels should be treated as a science. Here’s a quote from the book:

    “In fact, novels are works of science, not of wisdom. They are scientific in the sense that they search for the laws of human action, not in the spirit of wisdom that seeks to impose value judgments on human action.”
