Kiyah Willis’s “Why I Stand with Israel” Video Released

by | May 29, 2024 | Politics & Liberty

Last week, OSI fellow Kiyah Willis published her second YouTube video “Why I Stand with Israel.”

This video performed tremendously, bringing in more than 15,000 views and nearly 1,300 comments as of writing this. (For those unfamiliar, it’s extremely rare to see that many comments on a video with that amount of views.)

Kiyah opens the video by explaining she stands with Israel despite being a black woman. She says this because many people on the internet assume, as Kiyah points out, that being black means she should automatically be anti-Israel and pro-Palenstine.

Not so. Kiyah thinks that her being black is trivial in this context. She says, “My skin color has nothing to do with how I think or how I reach conclusions. I used to be very anti-Israel back in the day and that belief had everything to do with my skin color and nothing to do with using my brain or using facts or logic or critical thinking.”

It’s refreshing and encouraging to see a young, reasonable voice—especially on the internet—speaking against nonsense that is so common nowadays. It won’t be common for long with more like her.

Congrats to Kiyah for another fantastic video! Subscribe to her channel for more content like this.

P.S. Kiyah is also speaking at this year’s LevelUp conference about the roots of war and peace. If you’re looking to gain a more fundamental understanding of these things—and want to hear from other speakers on how to defend liberty and flourish in your life—you should register for this year’s conference.
