The Republican Character of the United States of America

Both major political parties seem to agree that the United States of America is a democracy. Over the past few decades, major figures from both the Democratic and the Republican Party have repeatedly claimed this. But, it isn’t true. In my newest Substack post, I challenge this idea, arguing that the US qualifies as a republic rather than as a democracy. I also indicate why the US could not have survived as a nation if she had been founded as a democracy.
