On July 13th, our country saw one of the biggest threats to our Republic in modern times: the near assassination of former president and current presidential candidate, Donald Trump. While many of us are rightfully horrified at political violence, others are celebrating and justifying this disgusting act under the guise of “defending democracy.” In my latest YouTube video, I dive into the meaning of the term “democracy,” its importance, and how it applies to the US political system. I also warn against the normalization of political violence and the dark path our country will go down if people continue to overlook this.
