The Beachbody Workout that Even My Toddler Enjoys

Today, there are more fitness programs available than you could probably use in a lifetime. Although the range of content and easier access to knowledge are massive values, it can be somewhat overwhelming to sort through all the different trainers, programs, and subscriptions. At times, I’ve often found it simpler to stick to my existing routine rather than wade through the dozens of options to find the best one.

Over the last several years, I’ve gone through about ten different fitness programs, and today I would like to give a hat tip to one of my favorites. If you enjoy exercise programs that are motivating, fun, challenging, and simple to use, then I recommend you check out Beachbody-on-Demand (BOD).

Setting aside its cheesy name and marketing, BOD has made excellent use of new technology to transform its products and benefit customers. Previously, BOD sold single-program exercise packages, which included a multi-week program of integrated workouts, calendars, meal plans, and progress tracking sheets. Now, through a single application and affordable three-, six-, or twelve-month membership options, you can access their entire library of programs, along with the supplemental materials, from your phone, computer, or TV. Their options range from strength training to yoga, dance, boxing, bodybuilding, running, and much more, with new and improved programs coming out each year.

BOD relies on many habit-building techniques to help you get started and stay on track. This makes it ideal even for those who struggle to stay motivated. Each BOD program is formed around a regular time commitment, from twenty to sixty minutes, making it easy to fit into your schedule. Getting started with a comprehensive  workout is as simple as pressing “play.” Another motivating factor in BOD programs is its trainers, who are successful, attractive, and encouraging—pushing you to keep going, even as the movements get challenging. BOD hand selects its “super trainers” who create programs that they love and are passionate about.

BOD’s programs are incredibly thorough. Many other programs omit cardio exercises from their training or don’t provide other helpful guides such as calendars and weight suggestions. Consequently, BOD’s method can be much more effective because it doesn’t require people to do extra work, planning, and exercises on their own.

Even people who are already in good shape can expect to see results from using BOD. Recently, when my schedule didn’t allow me to go to the gym, I returned to BOD and was surprised to find that I slimmed down and improved my endurance and overall strength. I attribute this to the fact that BOD programs are comprehensive and don’t overlook areas that I may neglect on my own, such as high-intensity interval training, core, and certain upper body work.

Finally, BOD programs are fun and engaging activities that you can do with family and friends. BOD has become a popular activity in my household over the last few years. I’ve gone through four of its workout programs and extended family and friends have joined in on my workouts. Now, my twenty-month old daughter, who’s been watching these workouts since she was born, asks me to pull up her favorite trainer’s videos and moves along with me.

So if you’re looking for a fun new exercise program to try, consider BOD. But be sure to scroll down the entire page of options before making a purchase, because some of the options include an add-on supplement. For a helpful guide to BOD’s programs, click here. If you’re new to exercise, I recommend starting with the Beginner-Intermediate category!
