We have a crisis of self-esteem today. Many young people don’t know what they stand for and don’t believe they’re capable—or even deserving—of a good life.
In order to build strong self-esteem, we need evidence that we have chosen the right goals and are pursuing and achieving them effectively. But none of us is born knowing what our values are or what career we should pursue. At high school, we’re often pressured to answer that question before we’re ready, leaving many people to choose a career that ultimately doesn’t represent their deeper values.
