I’m excited to announce two new fellows at Objective Standard Institute: Kiyah Willis and Ely Lassman.
After graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Kiyah worked for a year as a data analyst but soon realized that she was more passionate about understanding cultural trends and their causes and consequences. When she attended TOS-Con 2022, Kiyah discovered OSI, Ayn Rand’s ideas, and the world of rational philosophy. Enamored by the ideas, she applied for and was awarded an OSI internship.
During her internship, it became clear that Kiyah’s independence and active-mindedness made her a perfect fit for OSI, so we offered her a fellowship. She is now focused on learning more about philosophy and how to think clearly and communicate effectively. She has a major project in the pipeline that will be announced in the coming weeks. In the meantime, you can find Kiyah advocating reason, individualism, and liberty on Twitter (@growingtotruth).
Ely is currently an undergraduate studying economics at the University of Bristol (UK). He founded the UoB Liberty society in 2021 and is its president. He is also a Don Lavoie fellow at the Mercatus Centre at George Mason University, a policy fellow at the Pinsker Centre, and a Britannia fellow at the Common Sense Society.
After attending TOS-Con 2022, Ely joined the OSI team in Ouray, CO, where we had our company retreat. His active-mindedness and independence were clear as the Colorado air, and he seemed already part of the team. We invited him to be the first OSI intern and to help us develop the internship program, which he did to great effect. Now, as a fellow, he is focusing on the foundations and applications of individual rights, with an emphasis on intellectual property rights.
Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Kiyah and Ely.
With your support, and with burgeoning intellectuals such as Kiyah and Ely, we are making the world a better place through rational, life-serving philosophy.
